The “Fun 2 Learn” Philosophy

The philosophy of our preschool is to provide a positive, nurturing environment, strengthening the sense of dignity and self-worth of each child. We strive to foster the desire to learn, investigate, observe, and create.

We provide opportunities for physical, intellectual, emotional, and creative growth. We recognize success and accept that children may have their unique style of learning. We encourage our students to observe, to do, to discover, to reason, and to problem solve, as they bloom and grow.

Meet Your Owner and Director

Jody Roland, Certification in Early Learning and Childcare with 1st Class Standing

As the Owner and Director of Fun 2 Learn Preschool, I am excited to share a bit about myself. I have been working in Early Childhood Education for 17 years and have a certificate in Early Learning and Child Care with “1st class standing.”  I have a great passion for working with young children, helping them to reach their full potential in a fun and positive manner.

My values include good manners, kindness, sharing, empathy, dignity, and respect for others. At Fun 2 Learn, we acknowledge the importance of early childhood development skills while learning through play. This includes activities to build their fine motor skills, cognitive development, language, literacy, art, and creativity. We love to incorporate music and movement, creating a joyful environment to build healthy gross motor skills. I am also a firm believer in developing strong social-emotional skills, preparing them not only for kindergarten but for the educational years that follow.

It is important to me that teachers and parents work together to create a positive experience for your child’s first school adventure. My staff and I are compassionate, nurturing, educated, trained and experienced. We look forward to caring for your children and creating long-lasting relationships with them.

What Our Families Are Saying

Partnerships and Programs

  • Handwriting Without Tears is a program that ensures our children have effective direct handwriting skills and instruction.

Our teachers at Fun 2 Learn are educated in the Handwriting Without Tears program to provide students with the necessary hands-on tools to build vocabulary, fine motor, and alphabet knowledge prior to writing letters.

  • Fun 2 Learn Preschool has partnered with G.R.I.T. Calgary Society to provide support in our classrooms to ensure our children receive the support they require to help them achieve their full potential and developmental milestones in Speech and Language development.

G.R.I.T. Calgary Society is a registered non-profit charitable organization proudly serving Calgary and surrounding areas for 30 years. They provide community-based individualized education programs for children 2.8 – 6 years of age who qualify for Program Unit Funding through Alberta Education. Through this grant, G.R.I.T. Calgary Society can provide a team of experienced professionals to work in collaboration with parents and teachers to provide an effective and dynamic education experience for your child.

This means that we will have a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, full-time in the classroom for those children who require extra support with their speech and language needs. The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant would work closely with the Speech Language Pathologist to implement strategies and goals for those children who qualify for this extra support. In addition, a Certified teacher would be overseeing each child’s program and program needs.

If you have any questions or concerns related to your child's speech and language needs, please do not hesitate to contact Paula Carby, Executive Director, at 403-215-2444 ext. 223.
