A Typical Day in the Classroom

First Circle:

  • Greet each child, enjoy some sharing time

  • Celebrate birthdays and our “special helper”of the day

  • Talk about our theme of the week and craft of the day

  • Fridays are letter of the week - learning the sound it makes and how it is formed

  • Story time

  • Get our “wiggles and jiggles” out with song and movement

Bathroom Break

Free Play

  •  Exploring our centres of the day as we rotate each child through craft

  • Play includes creativity, fine motor, cognitive, building, sensory play, and social skills

Sing as we all tidy up together

Second Circle Time

  • Interactive group activities, instruments, bean bags, sticks, art hub, songs and special events

2nd Bathroom break

Snack time - we sing our snack song, practice our manners and have a snack while enjoying social conversation

Book/reading time for 5 minutes

Gym time - gross motor movement

  • Jogging, parachute, balls, hoola-hoops, balance beams, scooters, scarves, hockey, games, outdoor chalk drawing, science experiments, bubble blowing… the possibilities are endless!
